Prometheus Patent Services was pleased to be one of the domestic partners of the International IP Skills Summit, 2018 that was held on June 27-28 at Hotel Marriott, Hyderabad. The two-day summit saw participation from representatives across different patent offices viz. India, Singapore, EPO, ARIPO; IP counsels and IPR Heads from multinational conglomerates viz. Performer’s Protection Under Copyright Law - Part 1
Who would you call a performer? This question could simply be answered by saying a person who entertains an audience. Now to be more specific what would performance mean under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957? The definition of the performance is given in the Act. Section 2 (q) which states “performance, in relation to performer's right, means any visual or acoustic presentation made live by one or more performers”.
